Uncomfortableness faith hope

On the Way To Faith!

Even though we are in the throes of summer, I would imagine most of us like comfort and warmth. It makes me stop and think about our faith lives as well. It seems that we want our faith to be comfortable and warm too. In other words we like the warm fuzziness. When the marginalized challenge us or we encounter some life crisis, we are uncomfortable. It is for us, a winter. I further wonder sometimes if one bad experience or one challenge can make us get into a polar vortex type of pattern when it comes to our faith. We might encounter a challenge that makes us uncomfortable and then that leads to another challenge and pretty soon our faith lives are in the dead of winter.

But just as winter leads to spring, so too these challenges should be looked at as signs of hope, because God will take care of things. That is one of the greatest gifts of our God- hope that no matter how bleak today is, tomorrow can be better if we only believe.

I welcome you to my website and my blog. I hope you come back every now and then to read my musings. They’ll always have to do in some way with my faith, because I live my faith right on my sleeve. It defines me as a husband, a father, a grandfather, and certainly as a deacon.
